Workshop: The Business of Marketing Your Art

via the Katonah Art Center:

“Because Every Artist Could Use an MBA.”

Many artists face the same problem:  they create great work, but they don’t know how to get it seen by the art-buying public.  The Katonah Art Center has the answer:  a workshop during their Presidents' Week Series entitled Art Business and Marketing

Taught by a well-known artist in her own right, Liron Sissman, it offers guidance on finding and securing a gallery, portfolio presentation, website creation, market research and more.  "Because every artist could use an MBA," says Ms. Sissman, she offers concrete advice and a clear plan of action for artists to market themselves.

The class will be offered Thursday, February 24, from 6:30 – 9:30PM.

Ms. Sissman’s oil paintings have been featured in shows in New York City and throughout the country and have won multiple awards.  Her works are in institutional and private collections in the U.S. and abroad.  Ms. Sissman is an elected Fellow of the American Artists Professional League and is listed in Who’s Who in the World, Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in American Art, and Who’s Who of American Women.

Ms. Sissman’s painting “Hudson River at Boscobel” was selected for Warner Bros.’ Something Borrowed, starring Kate Hudson, Ginnifer Goodwin, and Colin Egglesfield, premiering May 6, 2011.

During President’s Week, The Katonah Art Center will also offer a Pastels Workshop, Clay Silver Jewelry Making, Digital Photo-Editing, Life Drawing, and much more.  For more information about President Week classes, contact the Katonah Art Center at www.katonahartcenter.com or call (914) 232-4843.

The Katonah Art Center is located at 131 Bedford Road, Katonah, NY  10536.
