Annual Indoor Golf Classic to Be Held At the Radisson
The event, which raises money to fight leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma will take place on January 15th and promises good times for a great cause.
How about a chance to test your indoor golf skills while having a good time and helping a good cause?
The 19th annual Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) Indoor Golf Classic, presented by ITG Investment Technology Group, will be held at 7 p.m. Jan. 15 at the Radisson Hotel New Rochelle.
The evening features an 18-hole mini-golf course in which participants can putt against a professional golfer, purchase a caddy so all of their golf and beverage needs are met and also enjoy dinner afterward in the hotel's ballroom, according to organizer Jillian Egenberg.
She said golfers will be "putting" for a goal to raise $138,000 for a cure to these debilitating diseases and to improve the quality of life for patients and their families. Over the past 18 years, this event has raised more than $1.5 million for LLS.
David Warmund and his wife Andi have attended LLS's Indoor Golf Classic for several years.
"It is such an easy event to support because it is just so much fun with good food and drinks, as well as plenty of laughs," said Warmund, adding the event is not only for a great cause but that once you participate you will be hooked and want to attend every year.
The night begins with a cocktail hour, featuring a Hole-in-One contest and an opportunity to beat a professional golfer! Guests will then play a tournament of 18 holes of miniature golf set up throughout the hotel, followed by a dinner, raffle, live and silent auction and distribution of prizes from Titleist.
Cocktails begin at 7 p.m., and the tournament starts at 8 p.m. Tickets are $135 per guest. Foursome and sponsorship opportunities are available as well.
Another fundraiser takes place before the evening's golf event: the second annual youth golf tournament—"Putt for the Cause Jr."—which runs from 2 to 4 p.m. at the hotel. Children ages 5 to 13 will play 18 holes of miniature golf on the same course throughout the Radisson while supporting the fight against leukemia, the most common form of childhood cancer. Food and refreshments will be provided.
Tickets are $30 per child or $50 for two when purchased online athttp://www.wch.golf.llsevent.org. All children must be accompanied by an adult.
