Welcome back, Patch Blogger!

Readers Choice: Chicken Wings

In honor of the Super Bowl, we're inaugurating a new weekly column with a survey of the best wings in and around Bedford and Katonah.

It's not news that the Giants playing the Patriots this Sunday is a big deal—but have you though about where you're going to watch the big game?

Check back Friday morning, when we'll have a list of local spots showing the Super Bowl.

In the meantime, we wanted to tell you about a new column designed to have you share your knowledge with your fellow Patch readers. Each week, we'll post a new "Best of" column for you to pick and vote on your favorite places to get the best cup of coffee, dessert and many other food items served locally.

This week's pick is in honor of the Super Bowl: Where can you get the best chicken wings in Bedford or nearby? According to this food blog, there is no disputing that the buffalo chicken wing was invented in Buffalo, New York, in 1964—but can you get a delicious, authentic version around here?

(We know many locals dine out in Bedford and Katonah and the immediate surrounding towns so we're asking you limit your choices to those areas.)

Here’s how it works:

  • We invite you to post your nominations in the comments below.
  • We hope you'll also spread the word about this to your friends on Facebook and Twitter and get them involved.
  • Submit comments until 5 p.m. Friday.
  • Then, we'll post a poll on Saturday giving you the option to vote for your nominees.
  • Voting will stay open through Monday morning, when we'll post the results!

Patch polls are not scientific, so we will also use reviews on the directory pages in the event of a tie-breaker.

So, whether it’s the spices, the prices or the delivery, let us know: Who serves up the best local wings?

p.s. If you think YOU make the best wings, and you have lots of friends who could vote for you, bring it on. Enter your own name, put your recipe up, and let's see!

I'll start - I love the boneless teriyaki wings at Oliver's and I nominate them for their variety of flavors. Yum.

As a born and raised proud Buffalonian - I have to agree with Lisa that Oliver's comes the closest to true Buffalo wings originated at the Anchor Bar :) (Just order them extra crispy!)

I went to college in Buffalo and loved the Anchor Bar but ate more wings at Duff's - more than I should have!
