Head-On Crash Lands Drivers in Hospital

Neither alcohol nor drugs appear to have been a factor.

Both drivers involved in a head-on collision at the intersection of Routes 22 and 35 in Katonah Wednesday night were transported by ambulance to Westchester Medical Center, officials say.

Bedford Police responded to the crash, which involved a 2004 Honda and a 2003 Subaru, around 8 p.m. They advised the community to avoid the area because eastbound Route 22 was closed for about an hour.

Preliminary reports indicate the injuries were non-life threatening, and that Katonah-Bedford Hills Volunteer Ambulance Corps. provided transportation. Some information, including the names and ages of those involved, was still unavailable Thursday afternoon.
