Lohud: Bobby Kennedy Files for Divorce
The Journal News reports that he filed divorce papers just days before she was charged with drunken driving.
According to records obtained by the Journal News, Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. filed divorce papers with the Westchester County Clerk's office on May 12, just three days before Bedford police charged his wife, Mary Kennedy, with driving while intoxicated.
The news follows a string of negative reports about the Kennedy family, who live on South Bedford Road.
On May 13, one day after the divorce filing, police received a 911 call from the residence; after staying for close to an hour, the police followed a domestic incident report, according to police records.
And on May 10, police responded to another domestic incident involving the children.
Mary Kennedy's drunken driving arrest took place on May 15 outside of the St. Patrick's School carnival.
The downward spiral followed a harmonious picture of the couple that was presented last April, when they opened the doors to their newly refurbished "green" home to the media and to a special event featuring the Boys & Girls Club Youth Awards.
Robert Kennedy, Jr. divorced his previous wife, Emily Ruth Black, in 1994.
