4. Random Acts of Kindness Week

Random Acts of Kindness Week (February 13 - 19) was established to celebrate small gestures—"the little things"—we all can do for one another. is marking the week with a “Random Acts of Kindness” jar set up at the library, with slips of paper containing suggestions for acts of kindness that can performed in the community. Why not stop by and pick up an activity you can do on your own or with your family? Or make up your own neighborly gesture.

5. Mardi Gras storytime

In the words of Miss Kathy: "Bonjour, y’all!!" Once again, the “Krewe” will “laissez le bon temps roulez” (that’s “let the good times roll,” chère) for its story times leading up to Mardi Gras. There will be Cajun music, jazz, two-step dancing, decorations, beads, throws, King Kake, and LOTS of stories about Mardi Gras, Louisiana, the swamp, A-li-GAY-tuhs, and Cajun country.

Story times are: Wednesday, February 15 at 4:30 for children in Kindergarten through 2nd grade; and Mardi Gras Tuesday, February 21,  at 4:00 p.m. for children 3 and 4.  Everyone is invited to wear party costumes in the traditional colors of purple, green and gold. For more information, please call the library at 666-6472.
