Each week, Bedford-Katonah Patch will introduce you to two vendors from local markets serving the area: Gossett's Farmer's Market and the John Jay Homestead Farmer's Market.

This week we introduce you to Burren Farms and Crowley Cheese.

Gossett's Farmer's Market is held at Gossett Brother's Nursery in South Salem every Saturday year-round, 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. and the John Jay Homestead Farmer's Market, held at the Homestead in Katonah runs Saturdays 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. through October.

Crowley Cheese

Vendors: Kacey Jones represents her family company, Crowley Cheese and is often joined by her mother, Jill Jones at the market on Saturday's. Jill is from South Salem, and her family business in Vermont is the oldest continuously-operating cheese factory in America.

Items sold: Mild Cheddar, a Medium Sharp aged 5-8 months, Sharp, Extra Sharp, Fresh Chive. The Muffaletta is made using Manzanilla olives, garlic, and pimento. The Sage is a recipe made by the original Crowleys over a hundred years ago. Also Hot Pepper, Hickory Smoked and Garlic Chive. All the cheese are made from raw whole, unpasteurized milk without additives or preservatives, certified BST and BGH free.
