Sneak Peek Tour of the New ER at Northern Westchester Hospital

The new emergency department aims to improve NWH's patient satisfaction record.

The Northern Westchester Hospital will soon open the doors to the Mary & David Boies Emergency Department, a state-of-the-art-expansion that inludes advancements in technology, patient comfort and a focus on pediatric care.

Improvements include an increase in the number of private patient care rooms—from 14 to 26—a bereavement counseling area, a new modern and more spacious design and child-friendly treatment areas.

The emergency room should open by mid-March, according to Mark R. Vincent, Vice President Marketing and Communications at the hospital. One upcoming event is for children to become acclimated with the new area is "see us before you need us" event. It takes place on and children ages 3 and up are invited to bring a stuffed animal to a "teddy bear clinic" for a checkup.
