Welcome to Patch's daily snapshot of sports in Bedford and Katonah.

Fox Lane is super

Fox Lane's wrestling team added to its stellar accomplishments this year by winning the Super 16 at Carmel Jan. 28.

See Rob DiAntonio's story on MSG Varsity for all the details.

Girls hoops bracketology

For years bracketology has become a mainstay in the months leading up to college basketball's March Madness and now it has reached high school, thanks to MSG Varsity's Kevin Devaney Jr.

Bracketology is foreshadowing where a team's seed will be in the postseason, using the various formulas the powers that be use to decide each team's fate.

Currently, Devaney has, if the season ended today, John Jay and Fox Lane's girls basketball squads as the No. 6 and No. 16 seeds in the Class A and Class AA tournaments.

GJV bball

We thank the Harvey Athletic Department for the below submission:

On Monday, 1/23, the Harvey Girls’ JV Basketball team suffered its second loss of the season to visiting EFIA 34-19. Unable to slow down the Owls' fast break, the Lady Cavs managed only 6 points in the second half.

Leading scorers for Harvey were Alexis Palmer (10), Sami Panoff (5), Emily Pollack (2), and Vanessa Mackiewicz (2). Sara Locascio and Tiaja Downer played excellent defense, while Shelley Pitterson, Alexis, and Sami combined for 14 rebounds.
