This week, in anticipation of Super Bowl Sunday, we’ve turned our attention to finding the best local dives, sports bars, and restaurants for Super Bowl festivities. We asked about flat screen TVs, food and drink selections, happy hour prices, and freebies and found our 5 favorites for watching the big game:
- Party With the Most Flat Screen TVs: Katie Mac’s in Mount Kisco. On any given Sunday, Katie Mac’s 17 Jumbo flat screen TVs, delicious variety of Irish Pub food, and inviting Irish sports bar atmosphere is reason enough to stop by to watch the game. But on Super Bowl Sunday, Katie Mac’s is stepping up its game with hot wings for 25 cents, $7 dollar domestic pitchers, and the promise of some special, tasty freebies.
- Best Place to Get Rowdy: O’Connor’s Public House in Mount Kisco. This public house has only six flat screens, but O’Connor’s is planning to draw a large crowd of fans with its free half-time buffet, happy hour prices on shots and beer, 25 cent wings, and the Coors Light Girls. Cheers!
- The Sophisticated Super Bowl Party: Oliver’s in Katonah. With a vast selection of craft and local beers and an extensive list of boutique wines, this new sports bar presents a casually sophisticated atmosphere. With 15 flat screen TVs, 25 cent Buffalo wings and domestic pitchers for $6.50, Oliver's is the perfect choice for the football fan that wants to keep it simple and sophisticated.
- The REALLY Sophisticated Super Bowl Party: Crabtree's Kittle House in Chappaqua. Tailgate party starts on Super Sunday at 6 p.m. The food will be broken down into game-themed segments. First, there's The Kickoff, which includes crab-deviled eggs, shrimp cocktail, truffled popcorn and wings. Then there's Half Time, featuring Green Bay and Pittsburgh-themed food, such as the Rothlis"burger" Slider and old Milwaukee-themed beer braised brats. Finally, there's Dessert with Two Minute Warning, featuring funnel cake, ice cream and cheesecake. Cost is $45 per person.
- Party for the Laidback Crowd: Jimmy’s in Katonah. In the world of bars, Jimmy’s niche is its casual and laid back atmosphere. With 4 TVs, a free buffet and $3.50 domestic draft beers, Jimmy’s promises a fun, casual, and potentially cozy Super Bowl experience.
- The Deliciously Different Super Bowl Spot: The Bar & Grill on 7 in Ridgefield, CT. With 13 TV’s, the Bar & Grill on 7 is a typical sports bar in many ways, but the unique menu and wine list make The Bar & Grill on 7 a deliciously different Super Bowl destination. This Sunday, football fans can enjoy $2.50 Miller Lite and Bud drafts, and then soak it up with New England lobster sliders or butternut squash ravioli.
