Police: Trio Steals from Drop Box for 'God's Property'

Three men were arrested on May 6 after two of the men were allegedly caught on video lowering the third man into a clothing drop box and stealing its contents.

Wilson Gonzales-Zambrana, 40, Henry Rosales-Gonzalez and Walter Cruz-Barroso, 40, all of Long Island, were observed and videotaped removing items from the drop boxes by an individual at the Hunting Ridge Plaza in Bedford Village.

The individual, who worked for the company that owned and maintained the drop-boxes, had suspected thefts in recent weeks and was staked out in an attempt to find out, according to police.

He reported the activities of the three men and a description of their truck to Bedford police.

Police located Zambrana, Gonzalez and Barroso in Mt. Kisco and interviewed the suspects, who said they were working for a company called God's Property. Details on the company were not immediately available.

Police discovered inside their truck 800 pounds of clothing valued at $450 and three large clothing collection bins.

After bringing them back to headquarters and reviewing the video, all three individuals were charged with petty larceny and fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property, misdemeanors, and released on $300 bail a piece.
