 Tonight is the start of Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish new year 5772. Check back for our story tomorrow on how one local Hebrew school imparts the message of the holiday to young students. Happy New Year!

 If you do not belong to a temple but want to celebrate the holiday, Temple Sharaay Tefila offers services for the unaffiliated. Led by Rabbi Stacy Bergman, the services will be held on the mornings of Rosh Hashanah, Thursday, September 29 and Yom Kippur, Saturday, October 8 at 11 am in the beautiful sanctuary at the Temple. for more information.

3. Bedford Central and Katonah Lewisboro schools closed tomorrow and Friday

4. Vicki Ingrassia to retire from Katonah Village Library

Vicki Ingrassia is retiring after more than two decades of working at the library. A fixture of the Children's Reading Room, she'll be missed by many. Check back tomorrow for our story and stop into the library before Friday, her last day.

5. Breast cancer app developed by local surgeon

A breast cancer Smartphone application developed by Dr. Pond Kelemen of the Hudson Valley Hospital Center’s Breast Center may be developed by the American Medical Association. The app would be helpful for physicians in assessing breast cancer risk. Vote for the app to win. More information .
