Three Local Teens Charged with Making Graffiti

The female youths were arrested on June 29 in Katonah.

Bedford police have arrested three local teens after they allegedly spray painted an array of messages incluing "sound is vibration," among others, on the brick exterior of Village Commons East and on a pole in the commuter parking lot in downtown Katonah.

The girls, a 17-year-old Waccabuc resident, 18-year-old Goldens Bridge resident and an 18-year-old from Katonah, were charged with making graffiti and possession of graffiti instruments, both misdemeanors, said police.

The call came into the police station from a passer-by in Katonah who said they had seen a car drive behind the buildings at 197 Katonah Avenue after midnight on June 29. Police said they found the girls with spray paint cans in the commuter lot on Jay Street.

They were released without bail pending an appearance in town court.

Mt. Kisco man arrested in traffic stop

Robert Messreni, a 62-year-old Mt. Kisco resident, was arrested on Woods Bridge Road in Katonah after the Bedford police tagged his Ford F150 truck.

A computer check showed Messreni was driving without a license and with a suspended registration, said police. He was charged on June 28 with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation and operating a motor vehicle with a suspended registration. He was released without bail pending an appearance in town court.

Danbury man charged in cel phone theft

Luis David Perez, 38, of Danbury, was arrested on June 28 for allegedly stealing a cell phone from an employee of the Complete Aquarium in Bedford Hills.

The phone was first reported stolen on June 27 around 8 p.m. by the employee. Police investigators used images taken from the store's video surveillance cameras and showed them to other local business owners, one of whom identified the man seen on video taking the phone, said police. Perez was released without bail pending an appearance in town court.
