Homeless Man Can't Foot $200 Taxi Bill to Yorktown

A homeless man allegedly took a cab from Manhattan to Yorktown and could not pay for the ride. Alexander P. Cameron, 57, was charged with theft of services, a misdemeanor. Cameron was remanded to the Westchester County Jail in lieu of $250 cash or $500 bond. Cameron was also charged with second-degree criminal contempt, a misdemeanor, for allegedly showing up at his ex-wife’s home on Dec. 28, 2011 in violation of an order of protection.

Animal Noises in the Bedroom

A Southeast woman reported hearing animal noises in her bedroom but when troopers arrived at her home Saturday night, they found no evidence of animals. The woman told police she will call an exterminator.

Seafood and Beer Dinner? 

A ShopRite security manager reported that two men tried to leave the store without paying for a shopping cart full of seafood and beer. The men fled when approached by the security manager.

Stuck in the Mud

Irvington Police Officer Ryan Weiss spotted a tow truck on the Irvington Middle School/High School campus trying to pull a 1994 Toyotal Camry out of the mud. A 16-year-old Irvington High School student had used his parents' car to drive across the running track and onto the field but got stuck. School officials estimate the prank caused $500 in damage. The teen was placed under arrest for criminal mischief and released to his father, who was on scene.

Noisy Children Open Christmas Gifts

Sleepy Hollow police received a noise complaint minutes after midnight Christmas day at Washington Place. The noise was coming from kids opening Christmas presents. The children were advised to quiet down.

Good Fences Make ...

Pleasantville police responded to a complaint made by a Grandview Avenue resident who claimed her neighbor kept knocking on her door and running away. Police called the incident a misunderstanding after the resident said it was over a fence that had been mistakingly taken down. 

In the Dog House

A Mamaroneck woman became angry at her employee, who also lives with her, for keeping a dog he couldn't properly care for. The man spent the night with a friend in Harrison to let things cool off before returning.
