Your Guide to Tuesday's Primary

Here's what you need to know before heading out to the polls Tuesday.

Primary elections for county and municipal government seats will be held all over the New York State tomorrow.

Here's the rundown primary races in Bedford: 

County Legislator, District 2

Lisa Douglas of North Salem is challenging Peter Michaelis of Bedford for the Republican line in the race for Westchester County Legislator, 2nd legislative district.

Michaelis secured the Republican and Conservative endorsements. The winner will take on the incumbent, Peter Harckham, in November's elections.

District 2 includes Bedford, Lewisboro, Mount Kisco, North Salem, Pound Ridge and part of Somers.

Bedford Town Board

There are two seats open on the town board for the November elections. Luke Vander Linden, a Republican, is challenging Christopher Burdick and David Gabrielson, the incumbent Democrats endorsed by their party seeking re-election.

When you get receive your ballot tomorrow, here's what you'll see:

  • On the Conservative Party line, you'll see Luke Vander Linden, and space for a write-in candidate. Christopher Burdick, one of forced a primary through the opportunity to ballot petition process.
  • On the Working Families Party line, there will be two write-in spaces.
  • On the Independence Pary Line, incumbents Christopher Burdick and David Gabrielson, who received the Independence Party endorsement, will be listed. A third line will be listed for a write-in candidate. Luke Vander Linden, who received the Republican party endorsement for Bedford Town Board, forced an Independence Party primary through the opportunity to ballot petition process.

The top two candidates receiving the most votes in each primary will win spots on the those parties' lines for town elections this November.

Polls are open from 6 a.m. until 9 p.m.
