About this column:

Patch profiles leading local restaurants and recognizes the achievements of their chefs and restaurateurs that have earned them recognition and acclaim.
We love the restaurants in Bedford. Name the establishment and we've been there: Meetinghouse, Blue Dolphin, Willy Nick's, Peppino's, Nino's, Lucia's—and the list goes on. But sometimes, something new comes along and makes a short trek for interesting food worthwhile—and when that something new is opened by a Bedford resident, it's a no-brainer. How did Myong Feiner go from stay-at-home mom to chef and owner of Myong Gourmet, which was recently rated "Worth It" by the New York Times? In part, because her friends—who believed she was a great cook— persuaded her. And in part, because of the dramatic turn of events on September 11, 2001. Amy Baker: Using my Easy-Bake Oven—I made cookies for my entire class at my Colorado …

Background: Salazar, 43 and a Katonah resident, attended Fox Lane High School in Bedford.  During high school she worked at Bedford Gourmet and Bedford Pastry Shop.  Post graduation, Salazar attended Westchester Community College and optained an associate degree in Hotel & Restaurant Management.   She also attended Peter Kump's Cooking School (now known as …
The fall menu at La Crémaillère will debut in a few weeks and it will once again be a collaborative effort of owner Robert Oliver Meyzen and his co-executive chefs: Eric Krupnick and Albert Astudillo. Meyzen is a distinguished family name in restaurant history. Robert Oliver Meyzen's father Robert Louis Meyzen was a co-founder of La Caravelle, a legendary French restaurant in Manhattan that was consistently rated four stars by the New York Times in the 1960s and frequented by members of high society. Growing up, Robert Oliver Meyzen went to school first at Our Lady Queen of Martyrs in Forest …
