John Jay Middle School students were greeted Friday by a new sight in the school's entryway: a traveling exhibition called "The Veteran's Wall of Fame," which displays the names, photos and biographies of veterans in New York's 40th District. "It's a busy hallway and kids can't help seeing this. It will be a great way for students to learn about war heros," said Rich LePrine, the school's principal, at an unveiling ceremony Thursday night. The wall was conceived of by State Sen. Guy Zinser, 62, remembers bits and pieces of the year he served in the Vietnam War, but there are gaps in his memory. "Or just parts of it I don't care to remember, I guess," he said. He was drafted to serve, and was sent to North Vietnam, where they weren't engaged in jungle warfare, as he describes it, but when his time was up, he decided against a military career. "What's that old expression?
