Family Art Activity: It Takes a Village
St. Matthew's Church, 382 Cantitoe St, Bedford Hills, NY | Get Directions »
FREE
As part of the 39th Annual Bedford Art Show, there will be a special opportunity for adults and children to work with clay, making houses for the “It Takes A Village” project.
This project is the inspiration of artist Denise Minnerly, who devised it as a participatory event, giving both adults and children a chance to express themselves in a unique way.
A miniature “Village” will be created at St. Matthew’s, with each participant producing their own house as part of the village. Children and families are encouraged to attend the art show and engage in this special activity.

More About St. Matthew's Church
About: St. Matthew's Church is set over 60 acres of beautifully landscaped churchyard, glebe and woodlands, with a stretch of the Beaver Dam Brook flowing through its property.
Though the church was consecrated in 1810, the present Parish House was built in 1946 and expanded twice after that, in 1960 and 1999.
The church offices, library, the Fellowship Room (available to community groups for events) and church school classrooms are housed in this building. It also has an outdoor worship area, the Chapel in the Woods, which is used during the summer months, and a rectory.
Rector: Rev. Terry Elsberry
Service Schedule: Holy Eucharist services are held at 8am every Sunday in Chapel in the Woods (weather permitting) in June, July and September. On the first and third Sundays of the month, however, they take place at 10am. Morning prayer services are held on the second, fourth and fifth Sundays at 10am, except in August and over Labor Day weekend, when there is one service at 9am.
On Wednesdays, a Holy Eucharist service is held at 10am and is followed by Bible Study.
