LES Closure Discussion is Tonight

Today's events:

1. A discussion about the proposed closure of Lewisboro Elementary School will be held today, according to this announcement. The message was posted by Save K-L Schools, a group that is against the proposed 2014 closure of LES. Guests for the event, according to the announcement, will include school board members Stephanie Tobin and Peter Treyz. Each of them is on the record as favoring the closure.  Assemblyman David Buchwald will also be attending. The event is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. at the Lewisboro Parks & Recreation building in Goldens Bridge.

2. There will be a presentation today of the archaeological project at Mount Kisco's St. George's/St. Mark's cemetery, according tothis announcement. It is scheduled for 12:30 p.m. at the Fox Senior Center.

3. The National Weather Service predicts that today will be sunny with a high temperature of 19 degrees.

4. The New York Times has a new real estate profile for Bedford Village and Bedford Hills. 

5. Yankees Manager Joe Girardi is coming to Harvey on Sunday, the school announced.

I hope Assemblyman Buchwald intercedes and pressures the BOE in stopping this disaster of closing LES. Maybe he could withhold education funding from K-L to force the district to change their ways. LES parents have rights no matter what the consequences are for the rest of the residents.
