Technology Speaker at John Jay HS; Book Fair at BVES

1. Dr. Zachary Walker, one of five winners of a Think College Emerging Scholar Award, will be speaking at John Jay High School and John Jay Middle School, the Katonah-Lewisboro School District announced. Walker, whose award was won based on research of technology and how to it relates to preparing students for beyond the secondary level, will discuss the rise of mobile devices and their impact on education and about using them safely. Walker will talk at the high school auditorium tonight at 7 p.m. and at the middle school theater on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m.

2. Bedford Village Elementary School (BVES), announced it is hosting a fall book fair today. The book fair is supported by the Bedford Village Elementary School Association (BVESA), the school's parent group.

3. The National Weather Service predicts that Wednesday's weather will be mostly sunny with a high temperature of 77 degrees.

4. One of Patch's popular weekend articles involved a Somers police officer being seen, by a hidden camera, removing a sign.
