The Fox Lane Middle School Sinfonetta Orchestra, directed by Roberta Warfield has been invited to participate at the 2013 American String Teachers Association (ASTA) National Conference in Providence, RI on Wednesday, February 27th.
The Sinfonetta Orchestra has been practicing William Holfeldt’s piece Palmetto Suite and the composer will conduct the orchestra. Their role will be to act as a demonstration group for a session titled Choosing the Right Repertoire.
Ms. Warfield, who is the middle school orchestra director in the Bedford schools, and a 25 year veteran string educator, will lead this session and explain to other string educators why this specific piece is appropriate for the middle school orchestra.
