Local Youth to Perform in the Random Farms Kids' Theater's "Legally Blonde"

The Random Farms Kids' Theater will present "Legally Blonde" at The Tarrytown Music Hall, Jan. 26 through Feb. 3, 2013.

Three young actors from the Yorktown-Somers Patch coverage area will appear in the show, including Olivia Singer of Bedford Hills as well as Sheridan DeVito and Maia Katz of Katonah.

"Legally Blonde," originally a blockbuster movie starring Reese Witherspoon, became a Broadway hit in 2007 after MTV aired a reality show competition seeking a new star to play Elle Woods, a Malibu sorority girl who follows her ex-boyfriend to Harvard Law School. The show was nominated for seven Tony Awards in 2008 and is currently running in successful touring productions around the globe.

More than 130 young people from the Random Farms Kids' Theater will take to the stage in four different casts that bring this smart, funny and energetic musical to life, while exploring themes of love, friendship, and achieving one's dreams.

"Legally Blonde is a singing, dancing, hairstyling, jump-roping, cheerleading, crime-stopping extravaganza.  Our performances feature amazing performers who have been working tirelessly to bring you this exciting, high-energy Broadway musical," said director Alexis Grausz of the Random Farms Kids' Theater.

The actors come from throughout the tri-state area and have a wealth of theater, film and television experience.

 The performances are  1/26 @ 3 p.m. & 8 p.m., 1/27 @ 1 p.m. & 7 p.m., 2/1 @ 7 p.m., 2/2 @ 3 p.m. & 8:00 p.m. and  2/3 @ 1 p.m. The theater is located at 13 Main St. in Tarrytown, N.Y. Directions can be found at  www.tarrytownmusichall.org.

Tickets for "Legally Blonde" are $18 (adults), $16 (students and seniors), $14 (groups of 20+). Premium seats (first four rows of center orchestra) are $23. To reserve tickets, go to  www.tarrytownmusichall.org or call TicketForce at  877-840-0457. This is a terrific addition to town! I know I struggle with mounting piles of things to donate andRead More finding places to give to. With the Community Center and now Goodwill, great to find a second home for goods.
