Yoga Sol and The Organic Teaching Kitchen in Croton on Hudson are teaming up to present a unique summer camp for kids ages 5 to 12 years old, Fit from Within, from July 14 to 18.
The week is dedicated to helping kids learn hands-on skills for healthy cooking and a healthier lifestyles. Susan Chasen of The Organic Teaching Kitchen will instruct participants in making their own lunches and snacks from organic, non-GMO, gluten-free ingredients. Kristy Cohen and Elisha Simpson of Yoga Sol will teach kids how to self-regulate and become more self-aware and mindful through creative yoga classes.
Fit from Within will guide children to make simple changes in their lifestyle and diet and empower them to change unhealthy habits and become more conscious of their well-being. The mindfulness practices, yoga, and games teach kids how they can manage stressful situations, understand their bodies, be more positive, sleep better, and become more self-confident. The cooking classes will stress the importance of food labels and demonstrate making and selecting healthy whole foods for snacks and lunches.
