Foundation for Bedford Central Schools Launched

The Foundation for Bedford Central Schools (FBCS) was launched today in the Bedford Central School District.  An independent, all-volunteer group of parents, alumni, businesses and community members, FBCS’s goal is to help ensure the continued excellence of the Bedford Central Schools by focusing solely on academics.

“Our community is fortunate to have the Fox Lane Boosters and FAME, and now this foundation will round out support to the many aspects of public education,” said the group’s Chair, Marie Scanlan, a BCSD parent.

FBCS will work collaboratively with the administration and Board of Education to identify where its support would be most helpful, ensuring that the programs are supported by the district and beneficial to the students.  The organization’s funding will come from community donations, annual fund-raising, alumni, local businesses and grants.  Preparing our students to succeed in an increasingly competitive world is an objective everyone can embrace.
