John Jay HS and John Jay MS Earn Reward School Status

The Katonah-Lewisboro School District’s John Jay High School and John Jay Middle School have both been named Reward Schools by the New York State Education Department (NYSED). As stated in a letter from the State, “These schools are among those in New York State that have made the most progress or have the highest performance with no significant gaps in student achievement.”

Reward Schools were determined based on their ability to make yearly progress and keep gaps in performance minimal. Also taken into account were the schools’ statewide percentile rankings, student growth, and graduation rates. John Jay High School and Middle School were mailed certificates of distinction.

“We are proud to have received this distinction, and are equally proud of our hardworking faculty and students who have made it possible,” stated Superintendent of Schools Dr. Paul Kreutzer. “Our teachers’ dedication to instruction and academic growth is part of what makes our District one of high achievement.”
