Lewisboro Lions support the Lewisboro Volunteer Ambulance Corps

Lewisboro Volunteer Ambulance Corps’ Annual Community Auction got off to an impressive start on Saturday November 9 as Lewisboro Lions President Tony Gonçalves kicked off the Event with a donation of $5,000 to support the Corps New Ambulance Campaign. Shown here with LVAC President Ann Hirsch, Mr. Gonçalves noted the common mission of both organizations as “Serving the Community” while Mrs. Hirsch thanked the Lions for their continuing support. “In recent years the Lewisboro Lions have enabled LVAC to keep current with the latest developments in pre-hospital emergency care by allowing us to acquire state-of-the-art Carbon Monoxide patient monitors, along with specialized patient transport backboards designed for hip injuries,” she noted.  These Donations by the Lewisboro Lions Club are made possible by the Lions’ own fundraising activities which among others include an annual golf outing.

The annual LVAC event at the Waccabuc Country Club drew hundreds of attendees who bid on a variety of Silent and Live Auction items, including, for the first time, actual parts of a new ambulance. Along with funding from the general community the Corps is also pursuing leadership donations of $5,000 to $10,000 to meet the cost of the new Ambulance, estimated at $180,000.
