Mount Kisco, NY – (July 31, 2013) – Selected members of the Boys & Girls Club of Northern Westchester (BGCNW) Summer Camp received a special opportunity this year when world-renowned artist Alan Reingold began stopping by the Club on Monday afternoons.
Children, ranging in age from 8 to 18, who showed artistic and/or design talent and who expressed interest in art lessons were given the opportunity to work with Reingold at the start of the summer. BGCNW camp members have dubbed the one hour and 45 minute class “Art with Alan.” Reingold focuses on teaching drawing and illustrating in a relaxed, supportive environment.
Reingold is a professional portrait artist and illustrator who has produced more than 100 national magazine covers and movie posters. His most famous work, the winged horse Pegasus logo for Tristar Pictures is recognized throughout the world. Additional notable works by Reingold are portraits of Presidents Jimmy Carter, Ronald Reagan and George Bush.

“The children absolutely love working with Mr. Reingold on Monday afternoons,” said BGNCW Operations Director, Barbara Cutri. “We are so thankful he’s working with us and sharing his passion for art with our members. The class provides the children with an exciting new activity to look forward to each week.” Reingold began his involvement in the Club when he began working with former Club member and current staff, Karanja Elliot. Karanja is a talented artist and is interested in pursuing a career in the arts. Alan was instrumental in guiding Karanja in his post-high school studies and continues to work personally with him.
Reingold is at the Club Mondays from 4:00p.m. – 5:45p.m.
