Cross River Woman to Appear on ‘Millionaire’

Jill Proskin will appear on the show on Wednesday and Thursday at 12:30 p.m. on ABC channel 7.

A family vacation on a Disney Cruise, money away for two daughters' college education and a shopping spree at Tiffany’s may be in Cross River resident Jill Proskin's near future.

That's what Proskin, a sixth-grade teacher at the Yorktown Central School District for 20 years, will do if she becomes a millionaire.

The world will find out Proskin’s financial fate when she appears on "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire" in the episodes airing Wednesday, Nov. 28 and Thursday, Nov. 29 at 12:30 p.m. on ABC, channel 7.

A kid at heart, Proskin said students love her because of her "strange sense of humor" and "whimsical approach to life." Her family and friends call her the "pop-up queen" because she’s obsessed with pop-up books. The woman owns more than 200 pop-up books and even has a whole room in her house dedicated to the collection.

Proskin's husband David accompanied her to New York City and sat in the Millionaire audience as Proskin's on-air companion for the show. The couple has two daughters – Hayleigh, 12, and Alanna Jolie, 10, both students in the Katonah-Lewisboro school district.
