New Kindergarteners are invited to our Library Card Story Time/Tour on Saturday, September 15th at 2pm. Kindergarten boys and girls (accompanied by their parents) can hear fun stories; get a tour of the Children's Room book areas (picture book, easy reader, non-fiction, etc.) and sign up for new library cards. To get a library card, children must be able to print their own names and parents must present proof of Katonah residence. Families from outside of Katonah are welcome to attend the program; however you must get your library card at your home library. For example: Golden’s Bridge residents must get their cards at the Lewisboro library.

Come to the program! Hear some stories, get your card and check out a few books!

Parents can learn about the handy Library Elf system to link up all family members' library cards and keep track of what items are checked out and what items are due.

Okay but let's focus on the charter of the BOE. The Board of Education believes its primaryRead More responsibility should focus on creating an educational environment that will help our students become knowledgeable individuals, problem-solvers, quality producers, effective communicators, wholesome individuals, collaborative workers, ethical individuals, life-long learners, and responsible, accepting and involved citizens. We remain committed to providing a high quality, well-balanced educational program that supports our faculty and staff and helps our students meet and exceed State standards as well as high district goals. It says nothing about protecting the investments of taxpayers by voting "no" on every expenditure. We need forward thinking, broad minded individuals to help guide educational direction of our schools. Keeping expenses reasonable and and in check should be a consideration by the educational focus should be primary. Although novices, Trustees Tobin and Schiff have helped true the course of the board back to the direction of education. Mr Stone who himself admitted he had never even been to a BOE meeting before deciding to run offers no sense of motivation other than Dr Treyz and his friends think he'll help shift the direction back toward finance. Mr Holbrook is no different a candidate than Mr Lipton himself was 6 years ago.
