A tree company working for NYSEG is moving through Bedford marking trees to be trimmed in 2014.
The purpose is to keep the space around power lines as unencumbered as possible to prevent outages caused by falling limbs or trees.
They'll also be evaluating trees that are within 10 feet of the line and have the ability to grow into the line and dangerous/ hazardous trees outside 10 feet. If they're deemed a problem, they will be removed.
Trees marked with a blue dot will be trimmed; trees marked with a blue X will be removed.
The company will go to everyone who has affected property and explain what's going to be done before the crews start the work—which will start later this year.
