Poll: What Makes a Place Great for Trick-or-Treating?

New York came in as the second best place to go trick or treating in the country, according to an index released by The Atlantic Cities.

Got your fun size Snickers and M&Ms ready, folks? In a new index released by The Atlantic Cities, New York came in second in the country for trick-or-treating.

The top spot went to our Fairfield County neighbors, though the New York metropolitan area (New York – Northern NJ – Long Island) did edge out L.A. this year, which dropped to 7th place, according to the article. Rounding out the top three: Chicago-Naperville-Joliet, Il- In -Wi.

Criteria for the 2011 “Trick-or-Treater Index,” included, among others, the number of kids between the ages of 5 and 14 in the area, income and “creative spirit (which we measured as the percentage of artists, designers, and other cultural creatives),” writes Richard Florida.
