We already know how Donald Trump would answer the above question.
“You have the constitutional right to keep and bear arms. You have that right and they want to take it away,” Trump said, according to a New York Daily News report. “And they are taking it away, slowly but surely, they are taking it away."
The SAFE Act strengthened the state's ban on assault weapons and imposed a limit on the number of rounds in a magazine. The round-limit, however, was declared unconstitutional in federal court.
Gov. Andrew Cuomo has said the law, with regard to hunters, sportsmen, and law abiding gun owners, "preserves and protects your right to buy, sell, keep or use your guns."
Rob Astorino, the Republican Westchester County Executive who is running for governor this year, clearly does not agree.
“He took away your rights, you take away his job,” Astorino said of Cuomo, according to the Daily News.
The Daily News reported that 63 percent of state voters back the SAFE Act and 32 percent oppose it, according to a recent poll.
But we want to know what you think? Do you support the SAFE Act? Or do you believe it should be repealed?
