Author Hammerstein at the Lewisboro Library

Author Andy Hammerstein (The Hammersteins: A Musical Theatre Family) will be the guest speaker at the Lewisboro Library's Annual Meeting. Oscar “Andy” Hammerstein (Oscar II’s grandson) gives an inside look at the Hammerstein legacy — the development of opera, vaudeville, and musical comedy — complete with personal and professional highlights and tragedies.

Andy Hammerstein is a painter, writer, lecturer, and family historian who has devoted much of his life to  preserving his family’s contribution to American culture. He is an adjunct professor at Columbia University, teaching graduate level New York City theatre history. Copies of his book will be available for sale and signing after the presentation. Mr. Hammerstein’s presentation will be preceded by a short business meeting.

The Lewisboro Library is located at 15 Main Street in South Salem. For more information call 763-3857.
