This annual contest has been running for the past three years and a bumper crop of 35 pictures were received.

Patricia Humphreys, contest coordinator and teen librarian, stated, "The photos entered in this year's contest were extraordinarily creative. It was very difficult for the judges to chose the winners from all these wonderful pictures."

This year's contest judges included the director Van Kozelka, as well as members of the staff and library patrons who have an arts background or are amateur photographers. "It was fun to judge these pictures and they were all very special," Mrs. Kozelka said.

The contest was divided into two age groups, 10-13 and 14-18.

In the 10-13 age group, first prize was awarded to Simone Nix, age 12, for 'Jumping Off the Boat House Roof.'

The second and third prizes were awarded to Braden Bailey, age 12, and Allie Voltaggio, age 11, for their pictures 'Love is in the Air' and 'Pool o' Bubbles.'

Pauline November, age 15, won first prize in the 14-18 age group for her picture "Man's Best Friend.'

Ally Moreo, age 15 , won second prize for 'A Spark of Childhood' and Bailey Burke, age 14 , third prize for 'Doggie Paddle.'

Congratulations to all the winners,' said Mrs. Humphreys, "and I hope they will stop by the library after Labor Day to pick up their award certificates and prizes."
