Katonah's William Nicholas Closing Saturday

After 24 years in business, Katonah's William Nicholas gourmet market is shutting its doors Saturday.

Owners Jeff Goodwin and Andy Vitrone announced the news about a week ago.

"It's just that point in our careers," Goodwin told Patch Friday.

The business, which was primarily take-out, has recently undergone some remodeling, including the addition of 10 seats for a total of 16.

"In the process, we thought, 'Let's see if someone would want to buy it,'" Goodwin said, adding that he and Vitrone "couldn't be more thrilled' with who is taking over.

The owners said the thing they will miss most are the people, but luckily they won't be too far away. Goodwin and Vitrone also own Willy Nick's restaurant and bar.

William Nicholas will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday. Check back with Patch soon for more information on what will become of the space.
