Visions for Vacancies: Adams Street Space

Put aside all the regulations, restrictions and rules—we're asking you what type of establishment would make the most sense in this space.

Let's call this a modern spin on community planning; a digital drawing board where all ideas are on the table.

We present a vacant space or property and ask you to tell us what you think would be the best use. Forget what zone it's in, ignore setback regulations, dump lot coverage rules and all the other zoning jargon that puts many people to sleep. What would you like to see there? What would be the best use for the community?

Many local folks joined the conversation for the . Up next was a property on Woods Bridge Road in Katonah.

Now, we're hoping you'll weigh in on the vacancy at 35 Adams Street in Bedford Hills, not far from a post office, MeMe's Treats and The Bedford Sportsman. It's listed here as a commercial space.

So, Bedford and Katonah folks, the question is: What would you like to see in the space?

Please leave your thoughts in the attached comments section. Thank you for using Patch!

Would love to see more entrepreneurial business or technology services companies that employ much, much more of our very own locals than that of just an eatery. We need and can help to answer the call of significant business growth right here in our backyard.

The space is in a gorgeous historic building and is completely renovated. Due to water restrictions, it is not suitable for a full scale restaurant, hair salon, etc. It is best suited to office or retail space. For more information, email akessel@houlihanlawrence.com

What's the rent per month? That in itself might determine if a mom and pop can make it there. Rents are so high all over, especially Mount Kisco. Let's hope this landlord will work with all possible tenants for the betterment of the community and not just his/her wallet.

Any kind of hip, fun family restaurant, something like the Little Creperie where families and young people can go for a quick casual meal. Downtown Bedford Hills is such a cute little area and really needs something to revive it and get people there.
