Are You Giving at your Holiday Party?

This holiday season, why not add a deeper dimension to your party?

As you prepare your holiday festivities, we’d like to share an idea that has been circulating at parties across our community.  When you gather friends, family or neighbors at holiday parties you are hosting this year, how about a nod to taking the edge off hunger for your neighbors in need?

For some years now, local neighbors have been holding a cocktail party for residents on their street. One feature has been a constant: guests are asked to bring an item of non-perishable food for the Community Center of Northern Westchester.  Everybody gladly brings a donation, and before you know it, the party has taken on another deeper dimension of generosity to our larger community.

Wondering what to ask folks to bring?  Check here for a list of foods we need now, and be sure to ask for friends and family to bring non-perishable items. Would you like to collect holiday food items, to support our Holiday Food Drive? Check here for a list of holiday foods we collect during this season.  Or, consider donations of new, warm sleepwear for our Share the Warmth Holiday Clothing Drive; details on our holiday clothing drive here.  Happy holidays and good cheer!

This is a terrific addition to town! I know I struggle with mounting piles of things to donate andRead More finding places to give to. With the Community Center and now Goodwill, great to find a second home for goods.
