Midnight Run Seeks Clothing for New York City's Homeless Suitable for Wearing to Job Interviews

Midnight Run Executive Director Dale Williams said today that his organization needs "men's suits suitable for homeless individuals to wear to employment interviews." He also mentioned "when September arrives, we'll have a huge demand for sweatshirts and light jackets."

Midnight Run is a consortium of more than 150 churches, synagogues and schools located in Westchester County and other parts of the New York metropolitan area. Its volunteers bring clothing, blankets, personal care items and food to New York City's homeless each evening and on weekends, they bring breakfast.

The vehicles arrive in New York City around 10 p.m. and deliveries are made until about 1 a.m. (Hence the name "Midnight Run.") Williams has managed the operations of the organization since 1991.

"Coming together to help our neighbors with less is possibly the most rewarding thing we can do," Williams said.

Midnight Run is located at 97 Main Street, Dobbs Ferry and is open on Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. 914-693-7817.
