5 Things You Need to Know Wednesday.

Moms Talk, Marble Magnets and Bowling

1. Another installment of the Moms Talk chats is scheduled for 1 p.m. today. The moms council will host another  discussion on issues that affect your child.

2. Bowling Fun. The is hosting today from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The Bedford Hills Community House is located at 74 Main St, Bedford Hills, NY.

3. The   is hosting “Vaction Week Special: Library Laboratory,” starting at 11:30 a.m. Young scientists are invited to hear wacky stories and try hands-on science experiments in this fun vacation week program. For boys and girls in grades 2-5. Registration is required. Call 914-232-1233 to register.


4. The  is hosting Teen Locker Magnet Craft.
The craft program , which is for teens in middle and high schools, allows participants to make glass marble locker magnets. The library will provide the glass tops and magnet backing as well as some magazines to cut out photos of favorite hobbies or celebrities to mount under the glass. Registration is required. Call 914-763-3857.

5. is playing aspart of the   Art on Film Series. Showtime starts at 7:15 p.m. The Jacob Burns Film Center is located at  364 Manville Rd, Pleasantville, NY.

Okay but let's focus on the charter of the BOE. The Board of Education believes its primaryRead More responsibility should focus on creating an educational environment that will help our students become knowledgeable individuals, problem-solvers, quality producers, effective communicators, wholesome individuals, collaborative workers, ethical individuals, life-long learners, and responsible, accepting and involved citizens. We remain committed to providing a high quality, well-balanced educational program that supports our faculty and staff and helps our students meet and exceed State standards as well as high district goals. It says nothing about protecting the investments of taxpayers by voting "no" on every expenditure. We need forward thinking, broad minded individuals to help guide educational direction of our schools. Keeping expenses reasonable and and in check should be a consideration by the educational focus should be primary. Although novices, Trustees Tobin and Schiff have helped true the course of the board back to the direction of education. Mr Stone who himself admitted he had never even been to a BOE meeting before deciding to run offers no sense of motivation other than Dr Treyz and his friends think he'll help shift the direction back toward finance. Mr Holbrook is no different a candidate than Mr Lipton himself was 6 years ago.
