Video: Small Town, Big Fun at the Katonah Fire Department Parade

The heat didn't stop parade goers from flocking to the heart of Katonah.

Around 5:30 p.m., families were already flocking to grassy patches along The Parkway and Bedford Road, picnics and pizza in tow. Moms unfolded chairs and tables and spread out snacks while kids sprayed silly string and played ball, waiting for the main event.

And just after 7 p.m.—when the thump of drums and melodic sound of bagpipes called the children to their curbside seats—the 2011 Katonah Fire Department Parade rolled into town.

Kids waved flags, parents held babies and local politicians campaigned while local officials and fire departments marched by.
