Historic Early Season Snowstorm: National Weather Service

The storm's hazards will be wet snow and high winds.

The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning for the lower Hudson Valley and Southeast Connecticut, including Rockland, Westchester and Putnam Counties.

On the east side of the Hudson, the demarcation line is classic: I-287. Rain and snow south of the highway that bisects Westchester, mostly snow above it.

Temperatures in the mid-30s, wind gusts up to 45 mph, snow accumulation could be 8-12 inches in places: Widespread hazardous travel conditions will be the result, NOAA warns.

It's a beautiful first snowstorm. I have planned a lot of cooking. I just made some homemade granola! Have fun everyone.
