Katonah Village Library Book Sale Starts Oct. 20

The sale goes through Oct. 27 and offers over 41,000 items.

Where else can you get great deals on wonderful books but at the Annual Book Sale for the Katonah Village Library? The sale will take place from October 20 through October 27 at the Library. “

We have over 41,000 items for sale this year, the numbers and quality of donations continue to grow.” stated volunteer Lynn Lovett. “It is still the best book sale in Westchester County. This year’s collection is without question the most diverse and interesting yet.” Among the great treasures one will find are an outstanding collection of historical books, valuable volumes of art, children’s books, DVDs, international cookbooks, new books and, best sellers.

One can get a jump on the Sale by purchasing a $25 Preview Pass for Friday, October 19 from 6 – 10 pm. Be among the first buyers, along with the book dealers to take advantage of the great values before doors open to the public. On Friday night purchases of $250 and over on will receive 10% off. Preview passes may be purchased at the Library or at the door Friday evening.

Friday, October 21 – 6pm-10pm ($25 Preview Pass required)

Saturday, October 20 – 10am to 5pm (full price)
Sunday, October 21 – 1pm to 5pm (full price)
Monday, October 22 – 10am to 8pm (full price)
Tuesday, October 23 – 10am to 6pm (full price)
Wednesday, October 24 – 10am to 8pm (half price)
Thursday, October 25 – 10am to 6pm (half price)
Friday, October 26 – 10am to 5pm (bargains)
Saturday, October 27 – 10am to 12 noon (make an offer)

Okay but let's focus on the charter of the BOE. The Board of Education believes its primaryRead More responsibility should focus on creating an educational environment that will help our students become knowledgeable individuals, problem-solvers, quality producers, effective communicators, wholesome individuals, collaborative workers, ethical individuals, life-long learners, and responsible, accepting and involved citizens. We remain committed to providing a high quality, well-balanced educational program that supports our faculty and staff and helps our students meet and exceed State standards as well as high district goals. It says nothing about protecting the investments of taxpayers by voting "no" on every expenditure. We need forward thinking, broad minded individuals to help guide educational direction of our schools. Keeping expenses reasonable and and in check should be a consideration by the educational focus should be primary. Although novices, Trustees Tobin and Schiff have helped true the course of the board back to the direction of education. Mr Stone who himself admitted he had never even been to a BOE meeting before deciding to run offers no sense of motivation other than Dr Treyz and his friends think he'll help shift the direction back toward finance. Mr Holbrook is no different a candidate than Mr Lipton himself was 6 years ago.
