K-L Board to Vote on Support Staff Union Deal

Katonah-Lewisboro's school board will hold a special meeting this evening to vote on a new contract with the Katonah Lewisboro Support Staff Association (KLSSA).

The deal, which was ratified by KLSSA members on June 21, is a 2-year agreement that would run from July 1 to June 30, 2015, according to details posted in the approval resolution. Negotiating teams for each party involved reached the deal on June 14.

The deal does not cover the district's other employee unions, such as those for teachers and administrators.

Also, the school board plans on voting to establish a School Closure Task Force Committee, another step as officials consider closing as many as two elementary schools amid declining enrollment.

The meeting starts tonight at 7 p.m. at John Jay High School's library. Click here for the agenda.
