Meet Honey, 'A New Chance' Pet of the Week

Honey needs a home.

Honey, about one year old and 42 pounds, is a Bassett Hound/Corgi (and more) mix who was thrown from a truck and brought to the Shelter with two chain collars so embedded in her neck that she had to have surgery to remove them.

And yet, Honey is amazing...she is friendly, playful and totally lovable. She is social with people and never met a person she didn't want to pet her. She loves other dogs, whether chasing or wrestling, and she has a real blast throwing her toys up in the air and chasing them down or quietly nibbling on them.

In fact—this goofy girl just simply seems happy and we think that's just totally awesome.  So, if you want a real affectionate and very cuddly sweetheart of a pup, (given her name so everyone would know just what kind of a girl she is), Honey is definitely the one for you.

Okay but let's focus on the charter of the BOE. The Board of Education believes its primaryRead More responsibility should focus on creating an educational environment that will help our students become knowledgeable individuals, problem-solvers, quality producers, effective communicators, wholesome individuals, collaborative workers, ethical individuals, life-long learners, and responsible, accepting and involved citizens. We remain committed to providing a high quality, well-balanced educational program that supports our faculty and staff and helps our students meet and exceed State standards as well as high district goals. It says nothing about protecting the investments of taxpayers by voting "no" on every expenditure. We need forward thinking, broad minded individuals to help guide educational direction of our schools. Keeping expenses reasonable and and in check should be a consideration by the educational focus should be primary. Although novices, Trustees Tobin and Schiff have helped true the course of the board back to the direction of education. Mr Stone who himself admitted he had never even been to a BOE meeting before deciding to run offers no sense of motivation other than Dr Treyz and his friends think he'll help shift the direction back toward finance. Mr Holbrook is no different a candidate than Mr Lipton himself was 6 years ago.
