Patch Picks: Rose Day; Garden Street Farewell; Memorial Day Races

There is something for everyone to do this week in the Hudson Valley.

May 28. 7 a.m. Participate in one of a handful of races and support , which was established in partnership with the Katonah Lewisboro Foundation in memory of Molly and Gregory Friedlander and their mother Amy. The event is hosted by South Salem Presbyterian Church. The events include a 10K, 5K, Challenge Run, Mile Fun Run for youth, and "PeeWee Races.” 10 percent of fees go to the fund. $15. 15 Main St., South Salem.

May 31. 9 p.m. Chappaqua Resident Frank Shiner kicks off the summer series. Free. , 76 King St., Chappaqua.

June 1. 7 p.m. Gleeks rejoice! The premiere concert of the newly-formed youth choir, , is June 1, 2012 at 7 p.m. at . The nine-member chorus sings Coldplay, Kelly Clarkston, Sara Bareilles, Adele, Carrie Underwood, Natasha Bedingfield and others. Members are from White Plains High School, North Salem High School, Highlands Middle School and Our Lady of Sorrows School singing together since the beginning of February. Free. ,

May 27. 10 a.m. The College of New Rochelle’s Mooney Center presents Alumnae artists who submitted up to three entries of original artwork responding to the "personal best" theme. Enjoy the celebration reception Sunday, June 3 from 1- 3 p.m. The exhibit and reception are free and open to the public. May 28. All day. The 12th-annual Outdoor Rummage Sale on the lawn of St. Augustine's Episcopal Church runs every day from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., May 19 - June 2. It's tented, so it runs regardless of the weather. Adult and kids' clothes for $1 each, as well as a selection of shoes, furniture, children's books, toys, bikes, trikes, toddler climbers and slides, scooters, car seats, strollers and booster seats. June 3. 12 p.m. The Lyndhurst Rose Garden showcases roses in bloom and experts on hand offering advice. Harp Consort, the Scarborough Singers & the Philipsburg Ensemble both perform. Free. 635 S. Broadway, Tarrytown.
