Headline reads "Nurses arrested" & then story says "Two Tarrytown Hall Nurses Aides Arrested". You are supposed to be accurately reporting the news so be accurate. There is a huge difference between a Nurse & a Nurses' Aide - education, responsibility, accountability, professional licensing- and it is illegal in NYS for anyone but a RN or LPN to use this title "Nurse". As a 32 year veteran RN, I am appalled by these news stories & the effect they have on the portrayal of the nursing profession . (http://www.nysna.org/practice/alerts/title_protection.htm)
