The deadline for making donations to the Annual Book Sale is coming up on August 1. Time to thin out those collections and bring your gently used books to KVL. The next opportunity to donate won't be until February 1, 2013.

Fasten your seat belts! The incredible Reena Shah is coming to Caramoor to lead a dynamic, all-ages Bhangra night for Dancing at Dusk! Bhangra has come a long way from its humble beginnings in India and is now recognized and enjoyed the world over. Originating from the Punjab region of India and Pakistan, its earliest form was as a celebratory folk dance to welcome the coming of Spring. In the past 30 years Bhangra has evolved, integrating into popular South Asian culture after being mixed with hip-hop, house and reggae styles of music. Join us for an unforgettable evening as the Friends Field comes alive at this captivating event!

3. Katonah Chamber announces sidewalk sales

The announced the annual opportunity to save big in Katonah begins Aug. 3 and lasts through Aug. 4. Get ready for some great deals.

4. Adult night out - Movies and Mai Tais Thursday

Enjoy movies and a picnic dinner al fresco in the Sculpture Garden. You supply the picnic and the Museum will provide the popcorn. Mai Tai’s and non-alcoholic will be available at the cash bar.  Come early and see the current exhibition: Rising Dragon: Contemporary Chinese Photography. This week's showing: Mao’s Last Dance.

5. Readers' Choice voting is open

The nomination period for Readers' Choice closed July 9 and now the voting period is open until Aug. 17. from which you can click to more than 20 categories and express your opinion with a vote. Based on the nominations, some of the polls are regional but contain entries from Bedford and Katonah and where there were enough hyper-local entries, they are all businesses in town. Have fun!
