Brain Development Workshop: The Brain and Middle Childhood: The “Maximizing Potential” Years
Middle childhood is a time of amazing brain development.
These years sometimes seem like a period of balance and relative ease. Which is
exactly why parents miss opportunities to assist children in ways that really
matter. Parents must help children as they naturally ready themselves for a
different kind of brain growth looming on the horizon. Once these middle
childhood years pass, a brain is never quite the same again.
This presentation, led by doctoral candidate Barbara
Allen-Lyall, will focus on the needs and capabilities of children in these
special years, a time when thoughtful family focus can truly influence a young
person’s future. For parents of children 7-11 years old. RSVP
