A program-packed day for all ages featuring 20-minute
portrait sessions with local portrait artists—offered for the first time ever
at the Katonah Museum of Art!  Partake in
portrait-themed projects for kids and adults: make a crazy photo collage,
sculpt a portrait coin, sketch funny faces, enjoy story time with award-winning
illustrator Jerry Pinkney, and take a family-friendly gallery tour.

2:30: Family-friendly gallery tour



12 – 5: Personal portraits sessions: sign up in advance for a
20-minute session with a portrait artist. Choose from photographic tintypes
like those made in the Civil War, line drawings, charcoal sketches or colorful acrylic
portraits. Limited number of appointments, pre-paid reservations recommended. Prices

Jessica Miller, Acrylic Paintings: Bold, decisive, and dynamic are just some of

Daniel
Ballesteros, Tin-type Photographs:
Ballesteros uses photographic techniques popular in the early
history of photography, including ambrotypes, tintypes, and other 19th
century processes, often transporting his photographic set-up on his bicycle.
His recent work explores the gaps between his cultural and artistic background and his

Isabella Bannerman, Black & White Line Drawings: Isabella’s cartoons have been in many
publications, including Glamour, The New York Times, World War 3 Illustrated
and The Funny Times. As an animator,
she contributed to MTV, Pee Wee’s Playhouse, and the TV show, Doug. Her Coffee God image is licensed by Northern
Sun. Isabella is the Monday artist for Six
Chix
, a comic strip syndicated by King Features that can be seen daily

Vicente
Saavedre, Charcoal Drawings:
An award-winning artist, Saavedra is currently
an art faculty member at The Masters School in Dobbs Ferry, NY, and directs the
Art Academy of Westchester. He has been exhibiting in Westchester and Manhattan
since 1999 and has been teaching since 1992, sharing experiences in France
(Lycee Montaigne) and Venezuela (University of Zulia). More on Vicente
