MUSICAL COMEDY SISTER DUO AND KATONAH NATIVES

PREMIERE THEIR NEW HOLIDAY SHOW

"VICKIE & NICKIE'S JINGLE BELL JAMBOREE!”

AT THE CUTTING ROOM

New York, N.Y./November 10, 2012 - NYC’s well-known kitschy musical comedy sister duo Vickie & Nickie will be premiering their new holiday show, Vickie & Nickie’s Jingle Bell Jamboree at the brand new Cutting Room in NYC on Saturday, December 8, 2012.  During this celebration of the holiday season Minnesota-style, the multi instrumental, singing housewife sisters take the audience on a zany journey as they share their rise to “fame”, family stories and their own special take on the holidays.  Created, written and performed by real life sisters and Katonah, NY natives Lisa and Lori Brigantino, the fast talking Minnesota moms come to you straight from their prison circuit tour to entertain with wacky original tunes, hilarious pop song interpretations, improv and audience participation all while accompanying themselves on many different instruments including acoustic and electric guitars, keyboard, accordion, saxophone, ukuleles, percussion and more.

The Brigantino sisters have performed several Vickie and Nickie shows to date with rave reviews:  Jenna Esposito of Broadwayworld.com says, "The talented Brigantino sisters put on a show unlike any other - their characters are complete, well-rounded, and immensely entertaining, and their musical talent is undeniable!" And Jon Sobel of Blogcritics.com concludes “Straight from “the prison circuit” and the land of lutefisk – Garrison Keillor fans will know what that is – the pair poke good-natured fun at middle-of-the-road American culture while revving up the crowd with perfectly executed vocal harmonies and musicianship (keyboards, guitar, ukulele, sax…)”… Vickie and Nickie, [are] two busy Midwestern moms who take to the stage to delight and entertain with humorous banter (abundant), multi-instrumental musical talents (considerable), and big ol’ personalities (wickedly twisted, if all in good family-friendly fun).

Lisa and Lori Brigantino have been performing together musically since they were children, growing up on Lakeside Drive in Katonah, NY.  Lori (Vickie) holds a Major in Theatre and a Minor in Music from SUNY Fredonia and is a graduate of The William Esper Studio 2 year Meisner Actor Training Program.  She has also studied acting with Suzanne Shepherd.  Her credits include The Last Nickel at The NYC International Fringe Festival, Trials & Fibs Off Broadway at The Soho Playhouse and several Off-Off Broadway plays and independent films.  Lori also performs regularly with Lisa at her singer/songwriter gigs in NYC and beyond.  Lisa (Nickie) is an award winning classically trained composer, songwriter and professional musician with a Master of Music in music composition & music theory from SUNY Fredonia.  She writes for dance, theater, film and TV.  Lisa released her second critically acclaimed solo CD “Wonder Wheel” in 2010.  Several songs from the album charted in the top 100 on a number of Indie playlists.  Lisa was an original member of the all girl Led Zeppelin tribute band, Lez Zeppelin, and toured internationally with the band, playing bass, keyboards and mandolin.  They played A list venues and festivals around the world including headlining Bonnaroo.  In 2007, the band released its self-titled debut CD, recorded and produced by legendary engineer and producer, Eddie Kramer.  Lisa left Lez Zeppelin in 2009 to focus on her own original material.

The Brigantino sisters were last seen on the main stage at Dixon Place in NYC this past June with their show, Inside Vickie & Nickie, and this past December with a successful premier of their 2011 holiday show, Vickie & Nickie’s Holiday Sleigh Ride!  The creative sister duo have written and performed nine full Vickie & Nickie shows to date including:  Inside Vickie & Nickie at the Foothills Performing Arts Center in Oneonta, NY where they also brought their two set show Vickie & Nickie’s Sizzlin’ Summer Spectacular and The Best of Vickie & Nickie, ‘Tis The Season With Vickie & Nickie which played to sold out houses at Don’t Tell Mama, and The Vickie & Nickie Dream Tour which had very successful runs in NYC at Upstairs at Rose’s Turn and The Duplex.   In addition, Vickie and Nickie have made appearances in many variety and comedy shows in NYC including:  Sundays at Seven Comedy Night at the Irish Arts Center, Kim Smith’s Vauxhall Kabarett at Vlada, Danny Leary’s Variety Extravaganza at Comix, The Talent Show Brand Variety Show at The Gershwin Hotel, Listen To This at The 92nd St. Y/Tribeca, Becky Donohue and Danny Leary’s The Cocktail Show at Don’t Tell Mama, and The Rocha Dance Theatre’s Glamour Bash at Galapagos in DUMBO.

Okay but let's focus on the charter of the BOE. The Board of Education believes its primaryRead More responsibility should focus on creating an educational environment that will help our students become knowledgeable individuals, problem-solvers, quality producers, effective communicators, wholesome individuals, collaborative workers, ethical individuals, life-long learners, and responsible, accepting and involved citizens. We remain committed to providing a high quality, well-balanced educational program that supports our faculty and staff and helps our students meet and exceed State standards as well as high district goals. It says nothing about protecting the investments of taxpayers by voting "no" on every expenditure. We need forward thinking, broad minded individuals to help guide educational direction of our schools. Keeping expenses reasonable and and in check should be a consideration by the educational focus should be primary. Although novices, Trustees Tobin and Schiff have helped true the course of the board back to the direction of education. Mr Stone who himself admitted he had never even been to a BOE meeting before deciding to run offers no sense of motivation other than Dr Treyz and his friends think he'll help shift the direction back toward finance. Mr Holbrook is no different a candidate than Mr Lipton himself was 6 years ago.
